Simple Divergence-Free Fields for Artistic Simulation
We discuss tools for calculating divergence-free fields for artistic particle simulations. We introduce a simple, fast divergence-free noise function which can be used for turbulence. We also describe how the interpolation technique used by the noise function can be used for calculating artist-controlled divergence-free fields. The artist can create realistic unbounded flow fields without the c...
متن کاملOn the Divergence-Free Condition in Godunov-Type Schemes for Ideal Magnetohydrodynamics: the Upwind Constrained Transport Method
We present a general framework to design Godunov-type schemes for multidimensional ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) systems, having the divergence-free relation and the related properties of the magnetic field B as built-in conditions. Our approach mostly relies on the Constrained Transport (CT) discretization technique for the magnetic field components, originally developed for the linear induc...
متن کاملAbstract transport equations with divergence free force field
We investigate C0-semigroup generation properties of the Vlasov equation with general boundary conditions modeled by an abstract boundary operator H . For multiplicative boundary conditions we adapt techniques from [17] and in the case of conservative boundary conditions we show that there is an extension A of the free streaming operator TH which generates a C0semigroup (VH(t))t>0 in L. Further...
متن کاملDirect Numerical Simulation of Turbulence Using Divergence-Free Wavelets
We present a numerical method based on divergence-free wavelets to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. We introduce a new scheme which uses anisotropic (or generalized) divergence-free wavelets, and which only needs Fast Wavelet Transform algorithms. We prove its stability and show convincing numerical experiments.
متن کاملThe Effect of Convergence and Divergence on Flow Pattern and Sediment Transport in Lateral Intakes
Water supply at a desired rate at any time to meet the water requirements regardless of river discharge must be considered in the general design of intakes provided that the needs do not exceed the river flow. Due to the lack of necessary information in this field and the importance of sediment transport to the lateral intakes at river bends, this study aimed at understanding the mechanism of t...
